    Create a delicious and simple pasta dish using canned tomato sauce. This recipe is perfect for a quick weeknight dinner that doesn't compromise on flavor.

    Ingredients:

    • 1 can (14 oz) of tomato sauce
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 1 small onion, finely chopped
    • 3 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
    • 1 teaspoon dried basil
    • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a spicy kick)
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional, to balance acidity)
    • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    • 8 oz pasta of your choice (spaghetti, penne, or any favorite)
    • Fresh basil leaves, chopped (optional, for garnish)

    Instructions:

    1. Cook the Pasta:
      • In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
    2. Prepare the Sauce:
      • While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
      • Add the chopped onion and cook until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
      • Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes, being careful not to burn it.
    3. Add the Tomato Sauce:
      • Pour the canned tomato sauce into the skillet with the onions and garlic. Stir to combine.
      • Add the dried oregano, dried basil, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Stir well.
      • Let the sauce simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. If the sauce is too acidic, add the sugar to balance the flavor.
    4. Combine Pasta and Sauce:
      • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the tomato sauce. Toss well to ensure the pasta is evenly coated with the sauce.
      • Continue to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the pasta to absorb some of the sauce.
    5. Serve:
      • Divide the pasta into serving bowls.
      • Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the top.
      • Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.
    6. Enjoy:
      • Serve immediately and enjoy your easy and delicious tomato sauce pasta!
